Huanchaco
After the madness of Mancora we headed 10 hours South to Huanchaco, a small, costal surf town. Unfortunately, we both got really sick and spent a few days stuck in bed. After two nights of the worst bunk beds and inconsiderate roommates, we moved to another hostel with help of a new friend Pasco. Pasco was a local artist and was more than happy to help us out. He showed us the local markets, the best surf spot and his art work. The kindness of the people in South America never ceases to amaze me.
Being sick put a damper on our time in Huanchaco, but we managed to get one beach day in before we left and I got the worst burn of the trip! I was a lobster from the waist up. Since it was Easter weekend, we had a hard time finding a bus to Lima. After trying a few different bus depots, we found a bus leaving that night and killed time at an outdoor mall before heading back to the bus depot. 10 more hours South and we'll be in Lima!

Máncora
Sun, surf, drinks, poolside and party. Welcome to Loki del Mar in Máncora!
We made it to Peru! Màncora is in Northern Peru which is a desert, so it was super hot everyday! Our hostel, Loki del Mar was like a resort. We didn't really leave the hostel except to go to the beach. There were organized activities (both with and without alcohol) everyday and a restaurant on site. We relaxed by the pool, wandered around town, went for runs on the beach and partied (obviously). My favourite night was Karaoke night! The TV was set up by the bar and everyone sang their hearts out. Kady & I had a very successful night of beer pong and represented Canada very well! Every night the party ended up on the beach. Loki is a great place to just relax and enjoy the sun, but it's not a good place to stay if you want to sleep.. Way too much loud music from the bars on the beach.
